Day 5 –> P90x Legs and Back. Rock solid leg workout. With some added pull-up’s in there for the back. You should by the end of this one have some pretty exhausted legs. You’ll be doing a ton of lunges and squats. All using your own body weight along with added weights or bands if you have them to increase the intensity. The one exercise that always gets me is the single leg squat. No matter what, seems I just don’t have the skills. :). But I get in there, and I do it. whether it is 5 or 8 seconds each time I do it. What I’ve found from doing the various leg workouts that Tony has created and includes wall squats, it is a mental thing. You can do it. It can be done. Just stick with it. Each workout, you try to do a little more each time and pushing yourself to do better.
Day 6 –> Insanity Max Interval Sports Training. Now, we all love a nice cardio workout. One that gets your heartbeat up, blood pumping and the sweat pouring. But when you take on an Insanity workout, especially one of the Max Interval (2nd month workouts) you are taken to new heights. I’ve done Insanity twice now and this is probably my favorite workout. One hour of pure sweat dripping fun. If you own Insanity, or are looking at getting or trying insanity, make sure you go with the Deluxe Version of Insanity. The three extra workouts are must haves for it. If you play sports then this is highly recommended workout. I love it for the fun of the basketball, boxing and football drills. With the basketball that I’ve added to my weekly routine for the past 3 months, I think it has been an awesome addition. It’s helped me since well let’s just say I’m no spring chicken and I'm out there for the workout. :) I’ve added in weighted gloves and ankle weights to most of my cardio workouts now. Really love them in this workout and the Kenpo cardio plus.
I’m having fun. Another round that is going strong. I’m going to start really increasing the weight in the coming weeks. I think it will help me reach my goals of both getting stronger and really pushing the envelope this time around. Cardio I will continue to keep it up. With the added running and getting ready for the 10k in May. You can follow my running over at the Nike site.
