So Insanity Max recovery day was yesterday and we’ll it was a good thing. :). The first 3 days of the week were fun, but man they do take a toll on you. I wouldn’t change anything, just letting you know how it is. I really enjoyed the new Max Workouts in Month 2 and I can’t imagine ever going back to something else. So Max Cardio recovery was good and I’ll give some details below as usual. This is fun stuff and it just keeps getting better. Get on board people. You will NOT be disappointed!
Video update for this one will be folded into my Day 40 workout that is tonight and will re-link back to here then.
What is Max Cardio Recovery?
Length: 47 minutes
Initial stretch –> ~ 6 minutes. This stretch is different than the others. Lots of relaxing, contracting, lunges and hip flexor stretches in quick fashion. Oh a little flat back of course thrown throughout. I liked it. Reminder as always, keep the core tight when your doing stretches. Focus on getting a good stretch out of this as it is your recovery day. You won’t regret it. Believe me. Reminder, next day is the Max Interval Circuit. :).
2nd sequence –> ~ 14 minutes. Continues with stretching but moving into different maneuvers. I would explain them, but easier for you all to see when you reach this day. :).
3rd sequence –> ~ 6 minutes. More work involved starting in this sequence. But you still continue to not do any cardio like exercises. Core needs to be focused. Plank work continues through this sequence.
4th sequence –> ~ 6 minutes. This sequence was crazy for me. started out ok, but once i had to start doing crazy shifting of my body and tip toes, i had a few problems. I loved the challenge, but I am not that, for a lack of better words, limber. :).
5th sequence –> ~ 6 minutes. Lots of plank word. Continues to keep you in a steady paced routine throughout.
6th sequence –> ~ 5 minutes. Nice controlled oblique work to start it out with. Then some forward leg arm lifts which really focused on the core and abs. Keep the core tight folks and control your moves. you will really notice it after this sequence.
End Stretch –> ~2 minutes.
So yeah, this was a welcomed recover day. A bit different than the standard cardio recovery and I kind of liked it. Very calm, very structured and really got you focused on your overall core and stretching the body nicely. I think many people will welcome this. Gives you a quiet break just before digging back into the rest of the week. The body is much happier. I can tell you that from first hand experience. :).
