insanity So last night I did Day 38 of Insanity.  This was a wonderful cardio workout, Max Cardio Conditioning.  Along the same lines as pure cardio, but on another level.  The beauty of Month 2, and the Max workouts, is that they are designed to raise the bar. Designed to push yourself and I to our greatest potentials physically.  It takes a bit craziness to enjoy these workout’s and I’m so loving things right now.  The gauntlet has been drawn and it’s time to DIG DEEP!

What is Max Cardio Conditioning?

Length: 47 minutes

warm-up –> ~ 9 minutes.  There are 3 sequences.  2 of the sequences are the same from the other Max workout’s.  Shaun T. then shifts to a quick sequence of moves that we saw throughout the first month.  These are in a fast pace since they are during the 3rd sequence.

stretch –> 5 minutes. With the usual we’ve seen so far in the Max workouts.  I still continue to add a couple at the end while pausing the DVD for a moment. I like to stretch my calves a bit and a few upper body ones to make sure I'm feeling not so tight there as well.

Cardio sequence –> 28 minutes.  The main cardio sequence is a straight 28 minutes of a mix of exercises. There are new one’s, new combo’s and exercises from Month one throw in there. They are all very fast paced and do a great job of getting the heart rate elevated helping to burn away that goo we got sitting around.  Man it is fun. I really do like the combo’s because they force you to have to get outside your comfort zone basically and switch quickly between one move and the next.    I love variety and I am beginning to love this intense cardio stuff more and more.

Stretch –> ~ 5 minutes. Usual stretches for after the Max workouts.  Again, and I keep bringing it up, make sure you are stretching enough and doing more if you need to.   It is important that you don’t skip.  Also a reminder to take your recovery drinks afterwards. Optimal times for taking it are within the first 10 minutes up to the first hour.  This has been shown to give the best results.

Insanity Max Cardio Conditioning was fun. Was challenging, was definitely designed well to do the job that it was intended.  Loved it!  I think everyone out there will find this to be a great routine that could be added to any hybrid workout that they may be doing now or in the future after they finish off their first round of Insanity.  I’m definitely already thinking about what I am going to do next.  Excited to see what others may be concocting or even go through a 2nd round of insanity itself with something mixed in.  We shall see.

So far this has been a great 38 days. There have of course been good and bad days.  It is hard to keep up the energy levels every single day. But  I take that all in stride and push through and have fun.  If I am going to spend an hour each night working out and doing something, I am plan on making sure it is worthwhile.  More on that later..
