So the week has been great so far for my workouts. I had totally forgotten how awesome Insanity was in the first month. These workouts have been kicking my BUTT! Which is good. Idea of the 2nd round is to really bring it home with serious digging deep. Am so far I think I have been. It’s been a blast pushing through each of the workouts.
YouTube Video’s Day 1, Day 2, Day 3
I have added some new workout’s to the mix this round also. I have the Deluxe edition which adds 3 new workout’s. Insane Abs (replace cardio abs), Max Interval Sports Training (replace the recovery week workout), and the Upper Body Weight Training workout. I will do the upper body weight training workout 3 days a week to keep the lean muscle mass in check and hopefully add some along the way. Not looking to get huge, just definition and strength. Looking forward to this for sure.
Day 1 – Plyometric Cardio Circuit – So this is the oldest workout that has been around for Insanity when it first debuted with on of the Tony Horton One on One workouts. I really love this workout. There has NEVER been a time that it hasn’t kicked my butt. And coming back to it after doing Month 2, i thought, maybe it would be a little easier, wrong. Plain o’ wrong. This is what I love about this program. These workout’s are build to push you at every corner, each and every time you do them. It is a beautiful thing Shaun Thompson. :)
Day 2 – Cardio Power & Resistance – Again i thought I could push through this workout a little easier, but that just wasn’t the case. But i enjoyed and had great fun getting in there and really pushing myself. That is the goal of this round. Push harder, dig deeper and learn how to really get the most out of this workout program. With proper form (per hint from a YouTube comment), and due diligence this is going to be amazing.
Day 3 – Upper Body Weight Training So I was and still am a bit unprepared for this one. Mainly because I don’t have all the right tools yet. But that is alright. I did my best and modified as necessary. You will want to make sure you have a workout bench, a variety of weights from say 10lbs up through 30 depending on how much bulk you are looking at building you may go even higher. I love the fact that it is a mix of upper body weight’s plus cardio. My heart rate was in the zone for over 1/2 the workout. Loved it. Great calorie burn as well over 600 for myself. Max HR was 172.
Loving Insanity and Loving working out. :). My motivation levels are at an all time high right now with this program. There is a lot of excitement around it and I hope those that are thinking about it or just starting really PUSH themselves from Day 1. You will find that your results will be that much better by day 63. We are talking a short 8 weeks of working out. With proper nutrition and workout regime you’ll come out looking amazing.
What is holding you back? I hope nothing. I hope there are no obstacles getting in the way of your success. You need to lay out your goals that will get your fitness and health on track. Plain and simple. Obesity in this country and world are at an alarming high. In the US alone it’s off the charts. Do this for yourself and your family. Get them involved and create a lifelong impression on your children about the importance of fitness and a healthy lifestyle. It is the only way. I love it when my kids get in and workout with me. They have fun, and are already understanding that it is part of our daily lives.
