Just an average Joe, filling his void in cyberspace. I’ve had various blogs/sites up over the years, but never had a reason to really dig in and post on a consistent basis. So, now with a sudden change in my attitude towards my health and fitness levels, I felt that this was a great venue to share my experiences and views as I move along and reach my various goals. helps me create accountability of myself.
Family
I am married, with two wonderful children. We are currently waiting on our third child to make their presence. Due sometime in January of 2010. We are very excited to have a new addition to the family to mix things up some more. Should be quite fun being out numbered soon. Many folks say it gets definitely different with three. We figure, it’s all good. Just like any other challenges in life you take them one day at a time and do the best you can.
Been enjoying the summer as much as we can with the crazy weather that has been going on. Kids don’t ever want to be inside so that is a good thing. Less TV time the better.
Fitness Story
Prior to January 12, 2009
I’d been going off and on for a few years to the fitness gyms around where we live. I had gone to one that was like 10 minutes away. Had a nice layout, even had racquetball courts (one of my favorites) and I kept saying, you know I’ll join a league and all that jazz. Well I just never did it. Went occasionally to workout and never did it consistently. Then, about a year and a 1/2 ago they opened one of the 24/7 gyms 1.5 miles down the street. So figured, you know what, I can’t possibly not go now if I join this one. It’s like right down the street. So joined, and the first 4 weeks were great. Doing a regular routine, 3 days a week with some cardio / weights. then I’d fall off the bandwagon and begin the yo-yo effect of going and stopping, etc.

The start of my evolution to a better me. My brother in law had talked about doing P90x, and I said you now what, that sounds like a great idea. From that day on, I never stopped or looked back.
April 12, 2009
Was my first round of P90x complete. Felt amazing to accomplish something that was very difficult. But it became, routine and exciting and I looked forward to doing it every night of the week. It became a part of my daily tasks to accomplish.
July 20th, 2009
Completed my 2nd round of a P90x hybrid (One-On-One, P90x and P90x Plus). It went great. I enjoyed the variety of workouts that I went through with this. There were so many to choose from, the muscle confusion was at it’s best. I’m still working on becoming that ‘ripped’ looking crazy guy, but not really my main focus. Goal was to get myself back into shape, back into a healthier lifestyle. It is working.
Current: started July 21, 2009
Started my first round of Shaun T’s Insanity. A 60 day kick butt intense cardio get yourself in great shape routine. There is a preview up on my site from the early released cardio DVD, check it out here. This was a great workout. Consistently burning around 650 calories every time. Just imagine, a couple of the workout’s are suppose to burn near 1000 calories per hour. 60 days of intense Max Interval training ahead. If I’m not fit by the end of this, then I got issues. :)
So, in the spirit of breaking out of my typical mold, I have created a short minute long clip of me just babbling a couple items about myself. Mainly, i wanted to see how it would turn out and get the first one out the door. Hopefully I will make a weekly thing out of video blogging something useful, or just about one of my current workouts. Anyways, enjoy.
