P90x One on One from Tony Horton and BeachBody

clock July 1, 2010 23:41 by author kevin

What is P90X One on One™?

This is Tony unscripted in his personal gym—no frills, no classroom, no cast. (But plenty of confusion.) No p90x1on1-logoplateaus welcome.  The 3rd Volume of Tony Horton’s One on One series will be P90x style.  The goal: To work out the kinks and create the next P90x 90 day program.  Currently it will be called P90x:MC2.  MC2 stands for Muscle Confusion 2.   We as subscribers get to be the ‘test’ subjects for these new moves that Tony will be incorporating into MC2 next year.  Awesome isn’t it?

How long are the workouts?

In good
P90X tradition, the workouts will vary between 50 and 60 minutes.

What is the workout style and intensity?

In
Volume 3, Tony experiments with different intensity levels. He mixes things up to
keep your muscles guessing. But beware! Some moves are groundbreaking and have
never been done before. In the excellently titled Disc 1, “Chest, Back & Balls”, Tony
tests his personal limits with a Plyo Push-Up while balancing his feet and hands on
stability balls. Unbelievable stuff. Don’t say we didn’t warn you…

Special Surprise? 50% offer

Every subscriber who purchases all 12 discs of
P90X One on One, Volume 3 gets a 50%
discount on P90X:MC2™ when it becomes available. If you don’t join Volume 3 from the
beginning (July 2010), no problem! You can still qualify for this offer. Simply purchase
your missing Volume 3 discs. And yes you read that right. That is 50% off when it is release in late 2011.

What is P90x:MC2? The next P90X®P90X  (more information down the road as it is released)

P90X:MC2™ is a completely new 90-day extreme fitness program that continues to build on your P90X results. The only way to avoid a plateau is to continue the Muscle Confusion™. And with Tony Horton's all-new, intense, cutting-edge workouts, you will definitely keep your muscles guessing.

If you haven’t noticed, I'm pretty excited for these next 12 months.  I love the one on one series and will continue to with the P90x One on One volume. It is amazing the workouts that have come out of it.  I will be first in line to continue my subscription and I hope that if you are a fan of P90x, fan of muscle confusion, fan of getting fit, getting ripped, getting in the best shape of your life you will as well subscribe.  Tony Horton does an amazing job with these.  So watch the video below.  Show’s you what is in store for us.  Any questions, as always, please don’t hesitate to ask and contact me.  Here to help.

Tony Horton One-on-One 100 / 30 / 20 Review (creator of P90x)

clock May 18, 2010 22:03 by author Kevin

OneOnOne_thumbnail_170x100 The April Tony Horton One on One program was the 100 / 30 /20.  This consisted of 100 Jump rope, 30 sit-ups and 20 push-ups.  I think most would think this pretty straight forward. We’ll Tony does a wonderful job of mixing things up with all 3 aspect of the workout.  The key here is the variety.  Per usual, Tony keeps the body guessing what it is going to encounter next. That is the amazing benefits of the 1-on-1 series each month. Always something new, always something fresh coming your way.

This is a great circuit that will keep you moving and really give you a great workout.  One thing to look forward to is the end.  Can you keep up with Tony and get through 100 jump ropes without stopping? Restart if you mess up and keep doing this till you get to 100 perfectly. :) Great way to finish out a workout!

Enjoy this one  from Tony, It’s a keeper for sure!  You can still get it and sign up for the monthly home direct.  It’s awesome variety for any workout program. Any Questions, as always don’t hesitate to contact me and let’s get you started on something that fits your goals.

Tony Horton One-on-One Mason’s Choice/Cardio Confusion Review (Creator of P90x)

clock April 14, 2010 23:11 by author Kevin

MasonChoice1 What a wonderful idea!  Throw in a hat, a million different exercises, pull them one by one and have an amazing workout!  Talk about confusion, talk about variety,  talk about results and getting the job done.  Tony has created yet another wonderful One-on-One workout.

So the gist of this is, Mason(Director, camera man, Side Kick) pulls from a hat a series of exercises from the various workout programs.  Including, P90x, Power 90, Tony Horton One on One’s and P90x Plus. The workout lasts approximately 37 minutes including the warm-up and cool down.  Tony is in his usual form of comical fun. I love listening to the interaction between Tony and Mason.  They keep you motivated, they keep you involved and keep your mind off of what you really are doing. :)

So same thing with resistance training and muscle confusion we are looking at cardio confusion.  I saw that there is a thread out there in the TeamBeachBody forums that someone has created a workout generator. I think that is a great idea.  Just might have to look into something like that. You can really do a lot of things with it.  Everyone is always looking for ways to spice their workout programs up. I am always intermingling different exercises into my hybrids but why not truly make it random.

But this is what I love about these programs.  You have incredible variety.  This is something that keeps your body from getting use to the normal routine and really forces it to get results.  Have some fun. This is a perfect example of thinking outside the box, pushing yourself to live on the edge!

I’m having fun in my current round of P90x.  Mixing it up, finding ways to push myself to the next level while still keeping the eye on the prize. My long term health and fitness and hopefully motivating others to do the same so we can continue to fight this dreaded position we’ve gotten ourselves into across this great nation and world!  There isn’t a quick solution to the problem. But together we can tackle it one day at a time. Beachbody, myself are here to help. Contact me with any questions! Love to get you started down your path back.

Tony Horton One-on-One ISO Abs Review

clock March 28, 2010 08:09 by author Kevin

1on1 Tony Horton One on One series is an amazing way to spice up any of your current workout programs. On top of that, you can build your own program from just these workouts if you have both the Volumes.  Volume One, contained more of the meaty resistance type workouts while Volume 2 so far has contained many of the cardio core/Abs type workouts.  Personally I do have a fondness for the program, but I would have liked to have seen new resistance workouts.

So what is ISO Abs?   This is another great addition to the many ab/core workouts that Tony has been creating in volume 2.  There are a total of 10 exercises with twelve reps each. You go through the routine twice.  Total time takes around 38 minutes.  This would be the longest ab/core workout that I’ve personally been through.  It is definitely different than AB Ripper X and most of the others. It’s focus is to keep things slow, controlled and keep you focused/concentrated on each move and the core.  You really feel it in each move throughout your core region.

Tony does a wonderful job of showing you variations in the moves in case you have lower back problems or aren’t currently up to par to do the entire workout.  My best advice to you is to do your best on each one. If you have to lower the # of reps you do, so be it.  In no time you will work up to the 12 per and maybe go even further if you challenge yourself.

ISO Abs I feel is a great add-on to your current program. For one you could switch out on some days with Ab Ripper X, or in any other programs Abs workout (cardio abs, merciless abs, etc).  Don’t hesitate to spice things up, to challenge yourself and find what gets the most out of your workout.  If you are going to spend the hour or more a day working out, make sure it gets the job done. Make sure you aren’t wasting that hour.  The 38 minutes you will spend doing this routine is WELL worth it.

The 10 exercises that Tony puts you through are Banana Boat, Tick-Tock, Super Scissors, The Gate, Oblique Crunch Left/Right, Draw-Bridge, Big Bike, Palin Twists and the Monster.

Take a look at the One on One series and get your subscription going. You won’t regret it.  I’ve been adding them in and out of my P90x rounds for some time now and don’t plan on stopping anytime soon.   Contact me with any questions. Love to help get you started down a journey of health and fitness!

Day 1/2 of 90 Round 4 – P90x Hybrid (30/15 and Pure Cardio)

clock March 11, 2010 11:40 by author Kevin

insanity-p90x Day 1-> Let’s say it was crazy.  It had been a while since I did this particular workout, the Tony Horton One on One 30/15.  This is 30 pushups and 15 pull-ups over an hour long period of time in various exercises.   I love it.  I was sore for 2 days after this workout which is a most excellent feeling. :)  Who isn’t be happy to be sore? Ok, maybe some. But it shows to me, that I can continue to push myself and feel the results. Feel that I am getting stronger.

You just have to take it in stride and do what you can from the beginning to the end of this1on1 workout. Tony himself even lowers the # per exercise.  So it shows you, that we are all human and we can only do what we can. We press play, we get stronger, we get healthier and we move forward one workout at a time.

This is one of my favorite workouts in all of the BeachBody collection.  Push-ups and pull-ups. How can you go wrong? Your own body weight getting the job done.

Day 2-> Pure Cardio.  Who doesn’t love Shaun Thompson motivating you through a 30+ minutes cardio endurance workout?  He gets you motivated, keeps you under control, tells you the right way to push hard, get results and stay safe from injury.  It’s wonderful. This is one of my favorites.  I like the whole cardio endurance aspects of Insanity, plain and simply because it’s work. I’ve done 2 rounds of just Insanity and I will do another one day because it really does the job.  Key through any of the workouts is modifying where you need to. Take breaks, keep hydrated and get back in the game and get results.

So round 4 is underway,  I hope everyone is getting started, looking forward to summer coming and feeling good about yourself.  Working out helps in so many ways. Not only with your health which is the primary reason, but it boosts your confidence. Your comfort zone grows and you feel better, stand taller and that is a wonderful feeling.  Mentally you are going to be sharper.  Let’s take it one day at a time. Here to help, so contact me.  Love to hear about your story, your transformation, your history, your journey to a healthier and happier you!

Interested in either Insanity, P90x, Tony Horton One on Ones let me know. Any information on them either just shout.  You can go to my BeachBody Coach page and check things out as well.

Tony Horton (creator of P90x) One on One series – Core Ball Sandwich Review

clock December 14, 2009 07:01 by author blogger

1on1 So who likes to work the core?  I certainly do.  The more I dug into Insanity, I realized the value of having a strong core.  it affects so many areas of your body, your everyday life from walking, picking things up, playing ANY sports and just your general all around sense of feeling good.  So Tony Horton, has this One on One series in which he publishes each month a new workout.  It’s just Tony and you getting some one on one time.  The fun thing about these workout’s is that from what I can tell, since I have never met him in person yet myself, is you see Tony more himself.  He’s relaxed, there is no rigid structure and you get to have some fun while still getting a GREAT workout.

Core Ball sandwich is about 40 minutes long in duration.  You go through 10 exercises, 2 times through.

  • L-Chin-up’s
  • side arm crunch
  • stability ball push-ups
  • knee up pull-up
  • stability ball plank crunch
  • ply ball push-ups
  • big ball crunch
  • Round house Pull-up
  • V-ball core crunch
  • sphinx Push-ups
This is a great workout is quite fun. My core was sore after this workout.  It really got me in areas I hadn’t worked or wasn’t working hard enough. :).  The 2 that really were tough were the stability ball push-ups and the sphinx Push-ups.  I could barely muster out 6 full push-ups on the stability ball.  The best part is that it leaves me with lots of room for improvement.  But truly the thing to come away from this is that by adding in a variety of workouts/exercises into your program, you will find that you can work areas of your body that either aren’t as focused on during your current program and mixing it up, creating that ‘muscle confusion’ you are going to get better results in the long run. That’s one of the benefits of P90x and as the incorporation of the One on One series.
Take a look.  Volume One is hands down a great set that you can alone create a killer workout program.  Volume Two has continued this tradition and I continue to look forward each month to the next workout.  Who’s game? Go here, click shop and take a look. You won’t regret getting these 2 series.  If not your style, you can also look at the ample amount of programs for all levels of fitness! contact me with any questions. Love to help out.
Find me most nights in WOWY @ 9PM EST. BuddyName: KevinPrice. Great way to increase that accountability. Consistency creates results.

Tony Horton (creator of P90x) One on One series – 10 Minute Crusher Pack Review

clock December 11, 2009 17:08 by author blogger

1on1 This was a fun workout.  I have been playing catch-up with the latest Tony Horton One on One’s and this is the latest one I’ve done.  It is broken into three 10 minute workout’s.  Each focusing on different areas and purposes.

The first 10 minutes is called 20/12 abs.

The idea behind this one is that Tony is doing 10 minutes of abs using a pull-up bar and the floor.  He does 20 of one exercise on the bar, then 12 of another exercise on the floor for 10 minutes switching exercises.  You get a great burn from this routine. Your abs will be feeling it within this short 10 minute period.  These are controlled moves that you will want to have good form on.

Something to remember is that he does not do a warm-up first. So you will want to spend a few minutes warming up your body. Short cardio with a mix of stretches should suffice.

I enjoyed this one. I had to do some re-positioning with my pull-up bar due to it’s location to do some of the moves. Mine is in a doorway and I don’t have that much room for some of the moves. I managed, but it would be more ideal to have a larger area.

The 2nd 10 minutes is called Legs of Gold.

As the title suggests, you are working your legs.    You’ll be doing lots of squats, lunges, and other moves that will focus on your legs, gluts, etc.  Tony is his usual self during the 10 minutes, keeping us entertained from beginning to end.  I thought this to be a great workout considering the short 10 minutes period.  But the best part is that we already know how good Tony is at an effective workout in 10 minutes, with his 10-minute trainer program.

The 3rd 10 minutes is called Shadow Boxing.

So during these 10 minutes the goal was to get you moving to some jump rope and shadow boxing.   Simple 10 minutes switching in between jump rope and boxing moves.    When this one on one was released it came with a jump rope.

I’m not the most coordinated at the o’ jump rope so I got in and did my best.  But it was great at getting my heart rate pumping, arms moving. Jumping rope as a whole is a nice workout. If you don’t have a jump rope just fake it.  Keep the arms moving in the motion and you’ll still get a nice workout.  It’s great cardio so you’ll be surprised at how nice this actually works.  The shadow boxing was fun.  Tony and Mason’s interactions and such always keep you in a fun mood during your workout.

The key is that you are working out, but your not really realizing it and having some fun. In the end you get an awesome 30 minute workout.  Not too long, great for those that don’t have a whole lot of time but want to get a mix of workouts in and hit many parts of your body in that short time period.

Tony at his best singing, if you can picture that “10 minutes, I'm going to train you , 10 minutes, it’s gonna change you 10 minutes, i don’t blame you”

So if you haven’t seen any of the tony Horton One on One’s there are a lot.  They are currently in volume 2 right now.  Volume one has 13 workouts and can be ordered in it’s entirety and or individual workouts.  Also you can get on the monthly subscription for Volume 2 that is currently going on.   These workouts make for a great overall program if you are interested in putting one together with it, or as add-on's for variety to your current programs (CHalean extreme, Insanity, P90x, etc).

Have fun.  These are awesome workout’s.  Contact me with any questions. Love to talk with you about these or any others.

Day 1 of 90 – Hybrid Program – Insanity/P90x/TH 1on1 – Thirty Fifteen

clock September 30, 2009 10:01 by author blogger

pushupSo my latest journey has begun.  Day 1 of 90 was Monday.  The workout was from Tony Horton’s One on One program called Thirty Fifteen.  Basically this is a pretty straight forward routine, where you’ll be doing 30 pushup’s and 15 pull-ups for 24 exercises!  Lasts about an hour.

I did a little video log for your viewing pleasure here

I’m excited to be back in the realm of working the body with some resistance.  It’s been about 2 months since I’ve done any resistance training and really want to step up the game in that department.  I really want to start working on gaining some more lean muscle mass while still reducing the body fat.  As long as I am gaining some muscle, not worried about any weight gain that might occur.

I was totally spent after the workout.  Let me tell you my arms were like total noodles by the end.  But I loved every minute of it getting in there and throwing down a ton of pushup’s and back on the pull-up bar.  So I'm sore today, glad I used my recovery drink last night or I’d probably be really sore by now.  Wonders of modern science.

One thing you really have to do is focus on your form during this workout.  you can easily whip out 30 pushup’s if you aren’t doing them right.  And in the end it isn’t going to benefit you at all.  So for both pullup’s and push-up’s focus on form. If you plan on doing this workout, adding it to your program, i would highly suggest you get push-up stands.  You’ll get greater range of motion and will see bigger improvements overall.  Additionally they do help with your wrists if you have any issues.

If anyone is interested in the Tony Horton One on One series, Insanity, P90x, or any other BeachBody product, let me know.  I would be glad to help get you started or discuss your options.  You’ll usually find me each night in WOWY, around 9pmEST as buddyname, KevinPrice.  Let’s chat, contact me and figure out what works for you!
